In this blog we would like to share the projects about crystallisation that we have developed in order to participate in the "Cristalización en la Escuela" competition.

Projects

Name: Cr I S T Al A Nd A L U S, Nuestro Patrimonio en Cristal

Inside the Program: "Andalucía Profundiza"

- Contest: Cristalización en la Escuela 2018/2019

- Description: In this project the crystallization process has been studied while our geological and biological heritage has been investigated. This research has been carried out through an approach that has pursued a greater deepening in the scientific procedure, in which the work has been divided into a series of Doctoral Theses (PhD), carried out by doctoral students under the tutelage of directors and co-directors of the thesis, and with the help of collaborating students. The salt used for the crystallization was in any case monoammonium phosphate NH4H2PO4 (ADP).

- Result: First Position in the contest "Cristalización en la Escuela, final de Jaén"
            Second position in the contest "Cristalización en la Escuela, final de Andalucía".

Name: The crystallisation of Science

- Contest: Crystal growing competition 2018/2019. International Union of Crystallography. IUCr

- Description: We recorded a video showing our experiences about crystallisation

- Result: We achieved the GOLD MEDAL in the 11-15 years old category!

Name: LA CRISTALIZACIÓN DE LA CIENCIA

- Contest: Cristalización en la Escuela 2017/2018

- Description: This project  describes the investigation of the crystallisation process and the production of geodes based on an approach that has involved the study of the scientific procedure. With this purpose in mind, a new public research institution has been created, the Crystaldoza University (UCRY). A series of research departments and groups have been created, each of which have been assigned with different functions and duties. Their coordinated work has led to a wide range of crystals and geodes. The product used in order to carry out all the experiments was ammonium dihydrogen phosphate NH4H2PO4 (ADP).

-Result: We achieved the first position in the Andalusian contest!
